Kabayani Party Building Workshop....What 's next?

Everyone is all set for the workshop to be conducted by the Ateneo School of Government. During the first meeting between Associate Dean Dennis Gonzales and MCF's Consultant Prof. Toti Dulay, Dean Gionzales said that "before the party should go to its grassroot political program, there must be a meeting of the minds of the leaders of the party as regards to the party vision and direction." Hence, the seminar was planned.

Several meetings and preparations happened among the team of organizers. Finally, City Administrator Melvin A. Cruz has to issue the final invitation for the participants:

Earlier, Prof.Toti Dulay of the Second Congressional District of Marikina, texted Mayor Marides Fernando:

"Mayor, good morning po. While Melvin and Pareng Ben Gana are busy finalizing our Kabayani candidates, Aurma and Deanna busy with the preparations for the seminar, may I float another project? Habitat for Humanity and Kabayani housing for the poor. Demy Posadas of the Habitat want to meet us. Pwede ka ba mam Friday in your office?

Mayor MCF texted back:

"am out of town friday maybe sometime monday next week/call joyce for sked"

So, whats next for Kabayani?

Depending on the outcome of the seminar... maybe Kabayani has to handle first the Barangay Elections. Then, grassroots political consolidation with the newly elected barangay officers, probably through an anti poverty project earlier proposed, together with with a purok level Kabayani reorganization, as earlier proposed also. Plus, national media high impact projects like partnership with Habitat for Humanity... to project the Kabayani and our Kabayani national level standard bearers, (and those local leaders who may not be accomodated in the local slate in 2010 and will have to pursue national public service career instead with the help and endorsement of Kabayani), to the national consciousness. Or, a partnership with Asian Institute of Management Policy Center to train local government executives of the "Marikina Way".... Now now now, Kabayani is getting national na talaga....

Well, of course, this is depending upon the result of the workshop and the decision of the top party leaders. Pero buti na yung may game plan kesa sa wala.

THE RESULT OF THE KABAYANI PARTY WORKSHOP IS RECORDED IN ATENEO WEBSITE. PLEASE CLICK THIS TO SEE THE SITE.

Seminar - Workshop on Strengthening Leadership and Management of Kabayani Party

Its all set. Aurma Manlangit of the Ateneo School of Government and Toti Dulay of the Asian Institute of Management - IMDM, discussed the program for the October 4 seminar - workshop as one way of fine tuning it . Popoy de Vera and Toti talked about it at the UP of College of Public Administration. Aurma and Popoy talked about it also.

Toti and Aurma agrees that to finally fine tune everything before the d- day, a meeting with Melvin Cruz should be done. Toti told Aurma that he could not join the seminar because he has a classs in FEU and a doctorate class in UP College of Public Administration that day. It will be like hitting "one bird with two stones" if he will join the seminar. But on the invitation of Aurma to lecture on Balance Score Card for a seminar to be conducted by the Ateneo School of Government for a group city councilors, Toti said yes, if his schedule of lecture will be on a Sunday. Toti also informed Aurma that the IMDM of the Asian Institute of Management, where he is the Vice Chairman, is the one tasked by the AIM Policy Center's Konrad Adenuer Project, to conduct competitiveness studies in some cities in Metro Manila.

Toti texted Mayor Marides Fernando after the meeting:

"Mayor, good pm po. Just finished meeting with Aurma fine tuning October 4 seminar. We suggest that a meeting between Aurma and Melvin be done to finally fine tune everything. Regards mam."

Toti also texted Associate Dean Dennis Gonzalez.

Tomorrow, Toti will be meeting the board of directors of the Marist PTA at Starbucks Marquinton to discuss the general membership assembly and some projects for the 3 million pesos fund of that exclusive boy school in Marikina Heights. He is doing this pro bono for the sake of the City of Marikina. Toti, however, has to decline the post of Program Director of the Knights of Columbus Concepcion Council 7631, to give chance to others, having already been a past Grand Knight for that council in 1996. On Monday, Toti will attend the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the AIM Alumni Association at the Manila Polo Club. Wherever he goes, he is carrying with himself the "Marikina Way".

As Mayor Marides Fernando once said : " We have moved from the traditional system of politics to a results - based system of performance politics."

Well, life is like that... you simply have to give it your best given a limitation.... one at a time. Life has to move on as usual. A dog has to do what a dog has to do.

In Marikina, Organizations Pursue the City Efforts, here is an example......

"The true value of sports is more than the skills that young people learn. It's in the sports' ability to strenghten the fabric of our neighborhood and contribute to a healthier and safer community." Mayor Marides Fernando.

And so, Marist School President Brod. Paterno S. Corpus, who works with the city hall on youth employment and Marist PTA President Prof. Toti Dulay who is a consultant of Mayor MCF, is planning to coordinate sports efforts of the school with the Marist PTA, Marist Alumni and the City Hall. The son of Prof. Dulay is a basketball varsity player of the school, while the son of Atty. Caalim and Atty. Lindo is with the football team.

Because Marikina has the e - culture, the Marist PTA set up an e - group and wishes to invite all interested Marist parents and students into the loop:

The E - Group home page has this to say:

This is the e - group of the Marist School Parents - Teachers' Association, Inc. (MSPTA) with permanent office address at the Marist School Compound located at Champagnat Avenue, Marikina Heights, Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Although this was started by the Marist School PTA Board SY 2007-2009, it is hope that the future board will just continue this (and not create another one) for the advantage of continuity of organizational knowledge and continuation of a tradition. It is suggested that all officers and committee chairmen should know how to use the FILE section of this e -group because we will require each officer to store their official communications and important data on those files so that the present and future officers of MSPTA will have historical data to benchmark with. Also, it will relay a message that we MSPTA officers want to share information openly to all parents and students, past and present alike, anywhere in the world.

Let us wish those who started this e - group good luck on their pioneering act:

School President and
MSPTA ex -officio Board Member-Bro. Paterno S. Corpus, FMS;

MSPTA President Prof. Sofronio "Toti" Dulay, PGK;
MSPTA Vice - President Dr. Jonathan Iledan, Marist School Alumnus;
MSPTA Secretary Restie R. Concepcion, Marist School Alumnus;
MSPTA Treasurer Atty. Mercedes V.Lindo;
MSPTA Auditor Atty. Teresita Ll Caalim;
MSPTA P.R.O. Nora G.Francisco;
MSPTA Assistant Secretary and Board Member Elaine H.Santos;
MSPTA Board Members and Officers of Marist Faculty Clubs Necy Yator, Luz A. Jaban, Romy Estante and Lany Lambinicio.

The elected Year Level and Section Presidents for the year 2007 and later 2008 are officially recognized as officers of MSPTA.
